The Retirement Home for Animals
The Retirement Home for Animals is a one-of-a-kind, non-profit charity association in Ylistaro, Finland, which is able to host and take care of old animals at the premises of Wanha Markki. They have managed to relocate or give a home to hundreds of domestic animals, which would have been finished off otherwise. The association has operated since 1999 with the help of volunteer work, private donations and funded with the art sales of Wanha Markki.
